The Universe has its Ways

Part of our business is helping people clean out their homes, and another major part is finding homes for no-longer-needed items, focusing on donations instead of dumps.

Earlier this month, we helped a client clean out their home that was under construction and they were looking to start fresh. We had loads of furniture and tens of bags of clothing and baby gear piled up outside. Overwhelmed by the generosity this client had provided, we knew several families would be graciously benefiting from the amount of belongings she was donating. However, we had no idea how impactful this service would be until the universe aligned and an angel came our way.

We were looking at piles and piles of donations, not knowing if we would be able to fit them into our cars, when a group of men, associated with a local Women and Children’s pantry, just so happened to be driving by and saw the sign we put out that said “FREE.” The men were blown away; they couldn’t possibly imagine that all these bags of women and children’s clothes and baby gear could possibly be free. They informed us that hundreds of women and children come to the pantry each week looking for gently used baby items and childrens clothing, and these donations alone would help them out tremendously. 

We were in awe.

Just then, in that moment, we all felt the impact of what we were doing.

Our client eyes welled up. We are always blessed when we see families benefit from generous donations from our clients, but for our clients to see this and experience it themselves is a wonder only God has a role in. 

We tell all our clients that we will help them find homes for their unwanted items, and they take our word on a leap of faith. She, too, was uncertain that her items wouldn’t be trashed and that they would end up helping other families in need.
